St. Louis, MO — Local Christian hip hop artist and community outreach leader, Pastor Mike “Paztuh Mike” Wuebbles is expanding his ministry reach beyond music and community outreach with the launch of a new church plant in St. Louis’ historic Soulard area. Known for using his platform to bring hope and the gospel to low-income urban communities, Paztuh Mike is stepping into his next calling to shepherd a faith community.

Rock Church Soulard –

The new church plant, Rock Church Soulard’s vision “Impacting Community, Making Real Disciples” — connects diverse generations, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds through the radical and transformational message of Jesus Christ.

“Rock Church Soulard is for those who are ready to live on assignment for King Jesus, not settle for “church as usual”, says Paztuh Mike. “Here, you won’t just attend—you’ll be equipped.”

Through the mission of strategic outreach and effective discipleship, Rock Church Soulard is both a hospital for the hurting and a Kingdom command center—raising disciples and sending them out to impact the city.

Official Launch –

Located at 2420 S. 12th Street, St. Louis, MO 63104, Rock Church Soulard, will officially open its doors next month Resurrection Sunday April 5th, 2026 with the service starting at 10:30am. The message focus is “Come, Follow Jesus!”. Immediately after the service, there will be a meal and time of fellowship.

In addition to weekly services and discipleship, Rock Church Soulard has partnered with Paztuh Mike’s nonprofit organization, Revive My People. Revive My People, formerly Men Standing Positive,  serves individuals of all ages and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds through community outreach, school engagement, and a holistic wraparound mentor program that supports the whole person — spirit, soul, and body.

Ready to set up a record label? Call us today 314-334-5501!

As an indie music artist you need a record label! And you can have your own! The benefits are truly endless when you set up a legit record label. Here are 4 primary reasons:

Your music under a business offers tax cuts. If you released your music under your personal name or a DBA, these special tax cuts are unavailable to you. For more on that, click here.

Your music career is a business and you should treat it as such. Releasing your music under a record label shows extra investment on your end to build credibility and trust as an indie music artist.

Your music should not cause any unnecessary risk to your personal assets such as your home, car, savings etc. Owning your own record label means limiting your risk and personal liability. For more on that, click here.

Your music career should have the maximum return on investment. Simply put, it’s impossible to cost-effectively collect all available publishing and royalties unless your music is released under a record label.

This short list is only the beginning of why you need to set up a legit record label as an indie music artist!

How to Limit Risk & Personal Liability with Your Own Record Label

Business Tips, Fresh News, Music Business Services, Record Label Setup
business registration, indie artists, lastdayrecords, marketing, music business services, record label owners, recordlabel, stl, tax cuts, tax writeoffs

The three letters “LLC” may seem like legal jargon to most, but they are quite meaningful if you understand their intent. Let’s look at the first two letters, which stand for “Limited Liability.” If a music artist or producer has their music under an LLC, they have done just as the first two letters suggest. They have taken a critical legal step to limit their risk and personal liability in the event of a potential lawsuit.

This is more common than you might think, especially when it comes to using samples from other songs in your own music. Even chart-topping artist Katy Perry has been legally accused of copyright infringement.

Whether an accusation is wrong or right, it’s a wise idea to “limit” your “liability” for your own peace of mind. A music business endeavor should add to your life, not put your personal assets up as a gamble. Let’s look at a general everyday example, outside of the music business, to further illustrate our point.

Take Joe. Joe is a trained mechanic who loves to work on cars and help people. He owns a $35,000 Ram 1500 pick-up truck which is his pride and joy. He also has $2,000 in a personal savings account. A year ago, Joe went rouge and quit working for “the man” as he calls it. He decided to financially support himself by doing side-jobs such as fixing vehicles for friends, family, and referrals. As risky of a business move as this may be, Joe has actually done pretty well. He managed to build up a trusting clientele and has even become a bit of a small town celebrity. People trust him and enjoy giving him business.

As bright of a picture as this is, there is a dark side. One day Joe took on a new client, Marty. Marty owns an $85,000 Cadillac Escalade. After following an enthusiastic recommendation from a college, Marty decided to take his Escalade to Joe for a tune-up. All is well at first, but later that week Marty crashed and totaled his newly serviced Cadillac. Marty claims that the work Joe performed on his vehicle was what caused the SUV to lose control and crash. Joe’s confident that this is not the case and he tries to reason with Marty. But Marty is infuriated and decides to sue Joe.

Joe has never been sued before and feels unsure of what to do. He’s confident that his work was not to blame for Marty’s accident, but can he prove that in court? What if he can’t? What if his work did have something to do with the accident?

Whether Marty’s claim has merit or not, Joe is at risk. Remember Joe’s $2,000 in savings? Well, Marty can come after that. Then, since $2,000 may not be enough, Marty can come after Joe’s prized Ram pick-up in efforts to recoup some of his loss. If Joe owned his home, his very dwelling place could be on the table. Right or wrong, Joe is at risk of losing A LOT more than he bargained for.

It may be too late for Joe to set up an LLC to protect him in his latest lawsuit, but let’s turn back time. If Joe set up an LLC one year ago when he went into business for himself, he would be in better shape. His personal assets – his truck, his bank account – would be protected from angry ex-clients such as Marty.

As a music artist or producer it’s a wise decision to establish an LLC for your music before officially going into business. It’s vital that you limit risk and your personal liability. It is also important to properly manage that LLC, but more on that later in another post.

Setting up an LLC may seem intimidating, but it’s the right move. That’s where Last Day Records comes in; we help facilitate this process. When looking out for yourself, you don’t have to do it alone. Give us a call today 314-334-5501 to get your music career started off right!

4 Ways to Use Your Tax Refund

02/17/2022 by lastdayrecordsllc

business registration, howtospendyourrefund, indie artists, irsrefund, lastdayrecords, marketing, music business services, record label owners, recordlabel, stl, tax cuts, tax writeoffs, taxrefund, taxseason

The pandemic changed everything, including the way Americans spend their annual IRS tax refund.

According to a recent study, the NRF found that 59% of people are expecting a refund this year. The top 3 choices for using that refund are:

  1. Savings
  2. Paying Down Debt
  3. Everyday Expenses

Only a combined 27% plan to use the funds for a major purchase, vacation or a “splurge buy”.

If you don’t need to do one or all of those above with your refund, consider a fourth option. You could use it to open a business or to further your existing brand and company.

It’s so easy to receive a lump sum payment and spend it on “splurge” items if you don’t have an immediate need or emergency to take care of.

Many of you have dreamt of starting a business, whether that’s a record company or something else. But life gets in the way, and you set those dreams back on the shelf. If you have the chance this year, use that refund to launch your dream.

There’s nothing wrong with purchasing new electronics, clothes, or taking a trip. But consider taking steps to put that money into your business, it’s investing into yourself and your family. Don’t let procrastination get the best of you. Make the decision to dust off that idea and bring it to life!

Not to mention, investing that refund into your business or branding means you can claim it as a deductible expense the following year. There are many tax benefits for owning your business. In a recent article, here we highlighted the main items that are generally considered deductible.

Put some serious thought into this, assess your overall financial situation, if things look alright, take the leap! If you need assistance getting started or furthering your business, give us a call! We work with indie music artists, record co owners, producers and business owners in various industries. Our music business services are unmatched and our marketing services will make you stand out from the rest!

Second, there are many expenses associated with having your own record label. You need to know what to look out for so you can deduct them on your tax return. We put together a brief list of what are generally considered deductible expenses.

The Making of Keep On

02/10/2020 by lastdayrecordsllc
Artists, Fresh News, Paztuh Mike

A 13 YEAR JOURNEY

When Paztuh Mike first wrote his up-tempo track, Keep On, he had no idea the song was a glimpse into his future. As he says, “the song’s inspiration was prophetic.”

After writing and fine-tuning lyrics, recording beats multiple times, and collaborating with vocalist Shadale Johnson, Paztuh Mike knew he had a potential blockbuster on his hands. The straight-shooting song tells of his determination to accomplish his vision despite negative circumstances and religious traditions standing in his way. With each lyric, Paztuh Mike makes it clear that he’s not concerned about how a situation looks. No matter what, he’s going to keep walking by faith.

Little did he know how much faith it would take to finally get Keep On from the studio to the masses.

A Work in Progress

Paztuh Mike penned the lyrics to Keep On in 2007. The following year, he laid down beats using a Casio keyboard. He knew this was just a start and re-recorded the beats in 2010 once he got his hands-on better equipment. Around that time, Paztuh Mike was on the hunt for a vocalist to sing the track’s R&B-inspired hook. “I wasn’t just looking for the right voice,” he says. “I also wanted a singer with the right character.” He quickly discovered this combination wasn’t as easy to find as he thought. Some ladies had stellar personalities but mediocre vocal skills. Others were top-notch singers but were caught up in the studio’s reputation for recording some of the industry’s biggest superstars.

Fifteen auditions and a whole lot of frustration later, Paztuh Mike’s engineer mentioned he had a cousin who might fit the bill. Although Paztuh Mike’s skepticism was high, he heard his engineer out and watched a YouTube clip of this cousin singing a rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz. As soon as Paztuh Mike heard her, he knew he had to give the young lady a call. A few moments later, he was on the phone with Shadale explaining his purpose for Keep On and her role in bringing that purpose to life. He also asked her a few pointed questions to test her character. Shadale passed with flying colors and since she happened to be in St. Louis from her hometown of Atlanta, she arrived in-studio shortly after their initial conversation.

Shadale’s soul-stirring addition was the final touch the song needed. Despite the long talent search and investing over $5,000 in studio time, Paztuh Mike was beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel. Or so he thought. He didn’t foresee that an unexpected obstacle would delay Keep On’s release for another 9 years.

Worth the Wait

Just weeks after recording Keep On, Paztuh Mike clashed with the studio and his management team, a rift that led to an eventual split. In the process, the master recording of Keep On was lost. Despite the setback, Paztuh Mike refused to give up. In 2014, he flew Shadale into town to re-record the track. The following year, they shot the music video for the song. More time passed after that, but it was time well spent. Paztuh Mike was ordained into ministry, founded his nonprofit, Men Standing Positive, and got married. The single will debut Thursday, Feb. 13 on WRFU, 104.5 FM during the Afterwork Drive Show with DJ BJ Clark.

“It’s been a long road,” Paztuh Mike says, “but it’s been worth the wait. Keep On means so much more to me now because I’m carrying out the vision I rap about. When I first wrote the song, I only imagined what I’d eventually be doing. Now, I’m living it.

“I believe it does a good job of representing what I stand for as an artist,” Paztuh Mike continues. “And I hope my story catches people’s attention and inspires them to ‘keep on’ no matter what they face. Life isn’t always easy, but if we walk by faith, we can overcome anything that comes our way.”
